On March 18, 2025, INTERSTORES took part in the Wirtschaftsimpuls event titled “Energiekosten gezielt senken – Maßnahmen und Perspektiven für Unternehmen” (“Targeted Reduction of Energy Costs – Measures and Perspectives for Businesses”), held at the Kulturzentrum Backhaus Gaimersheim in Eichstätt, Germany.
Organised by the Landratsamt Eichstätt, the event brought together around 40 representatives from regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to explore future-proof energy strategies. Dr. Christoph Trinkl, representing INTERSTORES and Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI), delivered an oral presentation titled “Zukunftsfähige Energieversorgung in Industrie und Gewerbe” (“Future-Proof Energy Supply in Industry and Commerce”).
During the presentation, Dr. Trinkl highlighted the growing importance of sustainable and cost-effective energy systems, including the role of seasonal thermal energy storage (sTES) in enhancing energy resilience and efficiency for industrial and commercial applications. The session provided valuable insights for local businesses looking to align their operations with climate and cost objectives.
The event also served as a platform for networking with regional stakeholders, fostering dialogue between academia, SMEs, and local authorities. INTERSTORES was referenced as an example of forward-looking research addressing real-world energy challenges through innovation and collaboration.
This outreach activity contributes to INTERSTORES’ broader goal of raising awareness and engagement at the regional level and promoting the integration of smart thermal storage technologies into everyday business practices.
